2025年　新年のご挨拶 JCW's 2025 Greetings 新年あけましておめでとうございます。本年もどうぞよろしくお願い致します。 昨年はJCWにとって、更なる飛躍の年でした。アジア系女子学生を支援するダラス学生支部PAW(SA)を、ダラスの2大学で設立（The University of Texas at Dallas・University of North Texas)。未来のワーキングウーマンとなる学生の支援活動を進めています。 一方で、津田塾大学を拠点に活動している東京学生支部Unlimitedも、留学生やキャリア女性とのコラボレーション等を通じて更なる功績を収めています。その活動が評価され、2024年7月にはガールスカウト日本連盟主催の「Community Action Challenge 100 Award (CAC Award)」のファイナリストに選出されるという、大変名誉ある機会を頂くことができました。これらは全て、Unlimitedの活動に関わって下さっている皆様の応援があったからに他なりません。改めて御礼を申し上げます。 学生を支援する一方で、ネットワーキングイベントや各種オンラインセミナー、Lean In JCW Circleといった勉強会を定期的にダラス・デンバーの2拠点で実施し、現役社会人の女性達と共にキャリアを振り返る機会も提供致しました。このような活動を推進することで、私達女性ひとりひとりが自分らしく輝きながら働ける社会を構築するお手伝いができたのではないかと思います。 もう一つのハイライトが、以前から準備を進めてきたグローバルメンタープログラムを本格始動です。世界を目指してキャリアを構築したい女子学生達と、ビジネスウーマンとして世界で活躍する社会人女性達をつなぎ、更なるグローバル女子の支援に努めて参ります。 全米、そして世界での活動を視野に入れて、一人でも多くの女性を支援するため、これからも邁進して参ります。今後ともご支援のほど宜しくお願い申し上げます。 2025年1月　JCW代表　北村祐子 Happy New Year! 2024 was a year of further breakthroughs for JCW. The Dallas student chapter PAW(SA) was established at two universities (The University of Texas at Dallas & the University of North Texas). Meanwhile, the Tokyo Student Chapter Unlimited, based at Tsuda University, has made further achievements through collaboration with international students and career women. Back in July 2024, the Unlimited was honored as a finalist of the “Community Action Challenge 100 Award (CAC Award)” sponsored by the Girl Scouts of Japan. We truly appreciate all the great support of everyone involved in Unlimited's activities. While supporting university students, JCW also hosted a variety of networking events, online seminars and study groups such as “Lean In JCW Circle” at our two locations in Dallas & Denver, providing opportunities to reflect on our careers with other women in the workforce. By promoting such activities, we were able to help build a society in which each and every one of us can work in our own way to shine. Another highlight was the full launch of the Global Mentoring Program. We will strive to further support global women by connecting female students who want to build a career globally with working women who are active in the world as businesswomen. ダラス日本人会主催の秋祭りに出展（Participated in the Fall Festival sponsored by Dallas Japanese Association) 2023年10月15日にダラス日本人会主催の秋祭りにて、DJCWのブースを出展しました。昨年に続いて今年で２回目の出展となり、当日は強風と寒さの中、ボランティアの皆さんとブースを設置しました。 ブースでは当会の活動の紹介に加えて、DJCWのダラス学生支部PAW(SA)や、東京学生支部Unlimited powered by DJCWの紹介、そして2021年8月にオンラインイベントに登壇して下さった仲本千津さんのウガンダ発アパレルブランド、RICCI EVERYDAYの活動も併せて紹介させて頂きました。 ブースにお立ち寄り頂いた皆さまと、直にお話しできたことはとても貴重でこれからの活動の励みとなりました。 そして、当日悪天候の中、ボランティアをして頂いたDJCWのメンバーさん、UTDの学生さん、PAW(SA)のメンバーさん、日本人会のボランティアさん達にスタッフ一同心からお礼申し上げます。これからもどうぞDJCWの活動を温かく見守って下さい。

JCW - 2024年夏のインターンプログラム (2024 Summer Internship Program) 毎年恒例の、津田塾大学との夏インターンプログラムが始まりました！今年は5名の学生さんが参加。2つのチームに分かれて、それぞれプロジェクトを遂行します。 Team 1: グローバルメンタープログラムのリサーチ Team 2: JCWダラス学生支部PAW(SA)とのコラボ企画 これから１か月間、JCWスタッフだけでなく、東京学生支部Unlimitedのメンバーと共に、海を越えて活動していきます。このインターンを通じて、学生さん達にたくさんの学びの機会が生まれますように。楽しみながら一緒に活動していきましょう！ インターン参加のみなさん

Member of JCW Student Branch in Tokyo Visited Dallas Edoko OmakaseでJCWスタッフとPAW(SA)メンバ＝との会食 JCWの東京学生支部Unlimitedメンバーであり、カンザス大学に１年間留学していた学生さんが、本帰国前にダラスへ！ たった数日の弾丸旅行でしたが、ダラスの街並みを案内することができました。JCWダラス学生支部PAW(SA)のメンバーとも合流し、ステキなひと時を過ごしました。 お食事は、Edokoさんの和食とCafe Hanaさんのデザートを堪能。そしてお約束のTexas BBQやTex-Mex！こうして海を越えてネットワークが広げられることに感謝です。 JCWはこれからも、未来のワーキングウーマンを応援します！ A member of Unlimited (JCW Tokyo Student Association) who studied at University of Kansas for a year, came to Dallas before returning to Japan! Although it was only a few days, we had a great time showing around Dallas! As for dinner, of course we enjoyed Japanese cuisine from Edoko and lovely desserts from Cafe Hana. Not to mention, we also let her try our proud Texas BBQ and Tex-Mex! We are truly grateful with this overseas networking opportunity with students. JCW will continue to support future working women like them!

JCW's Tokyo student chapter, Unlimited, was selected as a finalist for the Community Action Challenge CAC 100 Award JCWの東京学生支部Unlimitedが、日本ガールスカウト連盟が主催する「コミュニティアクションチャレンジ CAC 100アワード」のファイナリストとして選出されました！ 留学や就職など、海外で活躍することに関心のある日本人女子学生のエンパワメントをテーマに、Unlimitedメンバーが活動紹介のプレゼンを実施。審査員の方々からは「ぜひ素晴らしい活動を続けていってほしい」とのお褒めのお言葉を頂くことができました。 今後も意義のあるイベントのアレンジなど、頑張って下さいね！JCWは応援しています。 JCW's Tokyo student chapter, Unlimited, was selected as a finalist for the Community Action Challenge CAC 100 Award sponsored by the Girl Scouts of Japan! Unlimited members gave a presentation introducing their activities with the theme of empowering Japanese female students who are interested in studying abroad or working abroad. Judges praised their presentation and activities. Great job! We look forward to their ongoing passionate work and achievement.

A Lunch Meeting with JCW Staff & Japanese Exchange Students 米国時間10月5日（土）にテキサスの大学（UNT, UTD, Texas A&M)で学ぶ日本人留学生３名と運営メンバー宅でランチをしました。 ホストの美味しい手作りランチと各自が持ち寄ったアペタイザーやデザートを堪能しながら、大学生活、卒業後の進路や将来のキャリアについてお話しました！ 若い世代と交流しフレッシュなアイデアに触れることができてとても楽しい時間を過ごすことが出来ました。 On Saturday, October 5th (CDT), we had lunch at one of the committee members' homes with three Japanese exchange students studying at universities in Texas (UNT, UTD, Texas A&M). While enjoying the delicious homemade lunch prepared by the host, along with appetizers and desserts that everyone brought, we had conversations about university life, future career paths after graduation, and their long-term goals! We had a very enjoyable time engaging with the younger generation and being exposed to fresh ideas.

シーズンKick-offお食事会 米国時間の9月28日に毎年恒例シーズンキックオフお食事会をCentennial にあるSushi Kazuさんにて催しました。 なんと、今回はダラスからJCW創立者の一人、北村祐子さんと津田塾大学学外学修センターの隈元 忍 さんにもご参加いただきました。 今回はJCWイベント初参加の方から、お知り合いの方まで、様々な方にお会いできました。また、Sushi Kazuさんから豪勢なメニューをいただきました。 お食事会は景品のあたるクイズなどで盛り上がり、大盛況の内に終了しました。 ご参加いただきました皆さま、ありがとうございした！ We held our annual dinner party on September 28th (US time) at Sushi Kazu in Centennial. We were honored to have special guests Yuko Kitamura, one of the JCW founders, and Shinobu Kumamoto from the Center for Off-Campus Learning at Tsuda University. It was a pleasure meeting new members and reconnecting with our regular attendees. A big thank you to Sushi Kazu for providing a generous menu! The evening was filled with fun quizzes and prizes, making it an enjoyable time for all. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Visited " Japanese Academy of Rockies" in Denver, CO 米国時間の9月28日に、JCW代表の北村祐子がデンバーの日本語継承学校「ロッキーズ日本語アカデミー」を訪問しました！ この学校は、在米のお子さん(幼児〜高校生)を対象に、継承語としての日本語の維持と発展を目的とし、従来の学校教育にとらわれない、コミュニケーションを重視した日本語教育を提供しているそうです。しかもなんと、この学校の創立者は、JCWデンバーチャプターのスタッフさん！素晴らしい功績ですね。 我が子に日本語や日本文化を伝えていきたいと言う思いは皆同じ。そんな親御さん達にとってロッキーズ日本語アカデミーの存在は、大変貴重だと思います。 継承校での学びを通じて日本を知り、日本を伝えていくのは大切なこと。 私達も次世代にバトンを渡せるよう、頑張っていきましょう！ 《ロッキーズ日本語アカデミー》 https://www.japaneseacademyoftherockies.org On September 28th, JCW President, Yuko Kitamura had the opportunity to visit the "Japanese Academy of Rockies" in Denver, Colorado. This school caters to children (from preschool to high school) residing in the United States, aiming to maintain and enhance the Japanese language as a heritage language. It offers a communication-focused Japanese education that breaks away from traditional school approaches. Interestingly, the founder of this school is a staff member of the JCW Denver Chapter, showcasing remarkable dedication. The desire to pass on Japanese language and culture to our children is a shared sentiment among parents. For these parents, the presence of the Rockies Japanese Academy is invaluable. Learning about Japan through heritage schools and passing on this knowledge is crucial. Let us strive to pass the baton to the next generation successfully!
