米国時間の4月4日、JCW主催で「ダラス美術館・アートとカフェを楽しむ午後」イベントを開催しました。会場となったダラス美術館は、幅広い時代と地域のコレクションを誇る美術館で、落ち着いた空間の中でゆったりとアートに触れることができる場所です。

当日は、同美術館で長年にわたりドーセント（美術館ガイド）としてご活躍されてきた中本慶子さんをお迎えし、特別レクチャー付きのツアーを実施しました。中本さんの丁寧でわかりやすい解説により、作品そのものの美しさだけでなく、制作された時代背景やアーティストの意図、文化的な文脈まで深く理解することができ、参加者の皆さまにとって非常に学びの多いひとときとなりました。普段は見過ごしてしまいがちな細部にも目を向けるきっかけとなり、アートの楽しみ方がより広がったとの声も多く聞かれました。

ツアー終了後は、美術館内のカフェに場所を移し、ネットワーキングタイムを実施しました。アート鑑賞後の余韻が残る中で、参加者同士が感想を共有し合いながら自然と会話が弾み、和やかな雰囲気に包まれました。JCWならではの温かいつながりが感じられる時間となり、それぞれのバックグラウンドや関心を共有しながら、新たなご縁が生まれる貴重な機会となりました。

On April 4 (U.S. time), JCW hosted an event titled “An Afternoon of Art and Café at the Dallas Museum of Art.” The venue, the Dallas Museum of Art, is known for its extensive collection spanning a wide range of periods and regions, offering a calm and welcoming space where visitors can immerse themselves in art at a relaxed pace.

On the day of the event, we were honored to welcome Ms. Kay Nakamoto, who has served for many years as a docent (museum guide) at the museum, to lead a special guided tour with an in-depth lecture. Through her thoughtful and easy-to-understand explanations, participants were able to appreciate not only the beauty of each artwork, but also gain a deeper understanding of the historical background, artistic intent, and cultural context behind them. Many attendees shared that the experience encouraged them to notice details they might otherwise have overlooked, broadening their perspective and enriching the way they engage with art.

Following the tour, we gathered at the museum café for a networking session. With the lingering inspiration from the art experience, conversations flowed naturally as participants exchanged impressions and insights in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was a meaningful opportunity to foster connections unique to JCW, where individuals could share their backgrounds and interests while building new relationships.
